Episode 7 | Valentine’s Special Pt. 1: Relationships and Marriage in Medical School

In the Part 1 of our Valentine’s Day Special, we learn about managing relationships and getting married while in medical school. We discuss the obstacles, thought processes, and joys of planning a wedding from the perspective of two amazing (and hilarious) guests. From doing long-distance, transitioning to new jobs and cities, and having their perfect wedding, they’ve done it all.

Chris is a second year medical student at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Chris completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, and met his met his future spouse, Brooke, during his junior year. Chris would stay one year in Arizona to work as a scribe while Brooke completed her undergraduate degree. Chris and Brooke would then spend one year in New York together before Chris was accepted into medical school in Chicago.

Brooke, a native of Arizona, completed her degree in public health at the University of Arizona. She would then get her Masters of Public Health in Health Policy and Management, and now currently works in Chicago as an Analyst for the Internal Consulting Group at HCSC/Blue Cross Blue Shield.
